How to get an Education Sector Logon
An Education Sector Logon account with valid access is needed to use the applications on this site. The ESL on-line Delegated Authoriser for your organisation will be able to send an ESL invitation to create your account. You can contact the Education Service Desk to find who your DA is or to get advice about your ESL account.
Valid evidence of Identity needs to be sighted by your DA for ESL account creation. See Evidence of Identity for further infomation

Delegated Authoriser
An ESL online Delegated Authoriser allows on-line management of your organisation’s ESL accounts and to provide access to education applications and services using the ESL Delegated Authoriser portal. Training is required.
An ESL paper Delegated Authoriser is able to authorise user access requests to Ministry Education application on behalf of their organisation.

Early Childhood Education
ECE user access requests
For ECE staff that need to request access to education sector applications, please contact your ECE ESL Delegated Authoriser. If you are not sure who your ECE ESL Delegated Authoriser(s) are then please check with a colleague or contact the Education Service Desk
ECE users - ESL invitation email
Once ECE staff have requested access, when the requester receives an ESL email invitation they will need to accept and complete the email invitation promptly.
If ECE staff don't complete this task your access will expire.

ECE Secure Data Portal request (ESL 39) form
If you are a funding contact for your Service Provider and request access to Secure Data Portal to download your funding notices for your organisation, then please complete and submit the Early Childhood Education Secure Data Portal Request (ESL39) Form.
Your ECE Service Provider Contact can delegate authorising responsibility to the Professional Leader on their behalf for their ECE Service. They are required to authorise these ECE User Requests via Part 3 of the ESL 100 form.
ECE Delegated Authoriser
Your ECE Service Provider Contact can delegate authorising responsibility to the Professional Leader on their behalf for their ECE Service. This means the Delegated Authoriser will be able to create ESL invitations and to manage ESL user access requests for staff at your ECE Service.
If you are a Professional Leader and your Service Provider Contact wishes to delegate this authorising responsibility to you, then please complete and submit the Delegated Authoriser Request (ESL 100) Form.
Please NOTE: Training is required.
Schools and Kura
School staff access
For school or kura staff that need to request access to education sector applications, please contact your school or kura ESL Delegated Authoriser. If you are not sure who your school or kura ESL Delegated Authoriser(s) are then please check with a colleague or contact the Education Service Desk.
School staff - ESL invitation email
Once school staff have requested access, when the requester receives an ESL email invitation they will need to accept and complete the email invitation promptly.
If school staff don't complete this task your access will expire.
School ESL Delegated Authoriser request
Your school’s principal can delegate authorising responsibility to a staff member to authorise ESL user accounts for staff at your school.
If you need to become a Delegated Authoriser for your school or kura, complete and submit the Education Sector Logon School Delegated Authoriser Request (ESL 100) Form.

Tertiary staff access request
For Tertiary staff, access to most Tertiary Applications (listed above), can be provided by your organisation’s ESL Delegated Authoriser. If you are not sure who your ESL Delegated Authoriser(s) are then please check with a colleague or contact the Education Service Desk
Access to the NZQA TEOE is not available to your Delegated Authoriser and must be applied for separately.
Tertiary Authoriser / Delegated Authoriser request
Your tertiary organisation’s CEO or equivalent can delegate authorising responsibility to a staff member in their organisation to approve access requests to Education Sector online applications for staff at at your organisation.
Complete and submit the Education Sector Logon Tertiary Delegated Authoriser Request (ESL 100) Form

Tertiary users - ESL invitation email
Once a Tertiary User has requested access, when they receive an ESL email invitation they will need to accept and complete the email invitation promptly. Refer to How to use ESL: Setting up your user account.
If you don't do this task your user access request wil expire.

Other Sector Organisations
Ministry of Education staff with a relevant work requirement can have limited access to some Education Sector Applications.
Staff from education sector agencies and their suppliers, with a relevant work requirement, can have appropriate access to some Education Sector Applications. This includes access to non-production environments for integration testing.
Sometimes the business owner of the Application may be required to approve the access request.

For advice on how to get access to the Attendance Service Application (ASA) or the School Transport Resourcing Administration System (STRAS) for Ministry of Education Staff, please contact the Resourcing Team.
Once any User has requested access, when they receive an ESL email invitation they will need to accept and complete the email invitation promptly.
How to use ESL: Setting up your user account
If you don't do this task your user access request may not be granted in a timely manner.
For the Attendance Service Application (ASA) and ENROL
To get access to ASA and ENROL as an Attendance Service Provider please fill in ESL 140 form.
Once an Attendance Service Provider User has requested access, if they receive an ESL email invitation they will need to accept and complete the email invitation to set up their ESL account.
For Service Providers
For service providers, access to Salesforce Applications (listed below), can be provided by your organisation’s Authoriser or ESL Delegated Authoriser. If you are not sure who your ESL Delegated Authoriser(s) are then please check with a colleague or contact the Education Service Desk.
